About our District
Liverpool South Scout District was formed in April 2010 following the amalgamation of Allerton and Picton Districts, and Halewood (formally part of Knowsley District).
Geographically we cover a large part of the city centre, and the districts of Toxteth, Edge Hill, Princes Park, Wavertree, Sefton Park, Mossley Hill, Dingle, Aigburgh, Allerton, Childwall, Garston, Cressington, Gateacre, Woolton, Belle Vale, Lee Park, Netherley, Hunts Cross, Speke, Halewood, and Tarbock Green.
Our District has:-
- 18 Scout Groups comprising of Beaver Scout Colonies, Cub Scout Packs, and Scout Troops for children between the ages of 6 and 14.
- 4 Explorer Scout Units for young people from 14 to 18 years old.
- A Scout Network section for young adults from 18 to 25.
Use the map below to see the area our District covers and where our Scout Groups and Explorer Units are located.
Hopefully, there will be a group situated near to you. However, we don’t have enough volunteers, particularly in the younger sections, to meet the demand for places so many sections have Waiting/Joining lists. There are some roles not covered in our current Groups and sadly there are areas where at present there is no scouting available, so we welcome enquiries from establishments and adults interested in volunteering with existing Groups, setting up new Groups or starting new sections within existing Groups.
Our Scouting ethos is inclusivity, diversity and equality. All Scout Groups are ‘open’. No one can be excluded because of race, religion (or no religion), gender or sexuality.
